Remote Control of Electronic Signage

If you're considering a remote signage monitoring and control system, you might look into the PT 1000. It's manufactured by Nighthawk, based in Dnever, CO, a company with over a decade of experience with intelligent remote control boards that use paging signals for activation.
From Nighthawk's web site: "With a new easy wire terminal strip the PT1000 is easily integrated into any OEM equipment or industrial remote control system. The PT1000 board can control up to eight relays as well as send text messages directly through the RS 232 port. Text messages can be sent to serial printers, digital signs, or computer screen. The PT1000 comes standard with one on board 8-amp relay and 7 relay ground closure circuits. The unit is designed to operate from 10 to 18 VDC allowing for easy inclusion in solar powered or battery operated systems. The PT1000 is designed to operate on any paging network utilizing the POCSAG format. It is available in all paging frequencies in all VHF, UHF, and 900MHz paging frequencies. (Note: The PT1000 replaces the PT4 and the PT8 boards previously manufactured by Nighthawk.
The PT1000 is the same physical size as previous boards and can be programmed to function exactly the same as the PT4 or the PT8). The PT1000 can be used in hundreds remote control applications requiring simple “on off” control and can be easily combined with the ability to send digital messages. Typical applications for the PT1000 include traffic signage, digital message sings, civil defense warning sirens, fire department alert systems, irrigation pumps, computer equipment rebooting, school zone flashers, and street lighting controls."
