PC/104 GPRS Modem
Having just posted concerning the limited usefulness of cellular technology in M2M applications, here I am posting a new GPRS product. This one caught my eye because our iGatewayâ¢ is based on the PC/104 bus and this is the first GPRS modem I’ve seen that sits directly on the bus rather than using a serial or Ethernet interface. The Micronix PV-1800 is a GSM/GPRS modem built around the Sony Ericcsson’s GM47 dual band (900/1800MHz) cellular engine. The PV-1800 can be controlled by AT commands and is fully compatible with the AT command set. The module also includes an integrated power supply, I/O and RS232 ports, which promises a single-board solution for many M2M applications. Basic features: 8AI, 8DI (isolated), 7DO (opto-isolated), one RS232 plus additional 3AI,1AO, and 4DIO
